Pixels, Prints, and Personality
As a graphic designer, my goal is to create visuals that evoke specific emotions and resonate with the audience. I utilize symbols, typography, and color theory in my designs to forge meaningful connections and enhance the understanding of the content. Design is intricately woven into everything around us, which drives me to analyze and appreciate all of its details. Designers do not choose fonts, colors, or layouts at random- they use them intentionally to communicate deeper messages. I love the process of breaking down a design and seeing how every element works together, like puzzle pieces, to create a cohesive and impactful composition.
Beyond graphic design, I also have a deep passion for creating traditional art. My favorite medium is colored pencils, though I also enjoy working with oil paint, acrylics, and air clay. Alongside my artistic pursuits, I have a love for art history, so much so that I am minoring in it. I originally started college as an art history major, and I still find great joy in researching, reading, and writing about the subject. I also spend a lot of time refining my research and collaboration skills through my scholarship program. I’m incredibly grateful to have been selected as a First Generation Coca-Cola Scholar, and one of the highlights of my experience was studying abroad in Germany and France. During our time abroad, we focused on human rights, sustainability, and intercultural competence. We compared these topics with the United States and had the opportunity to present our findings at Kennesaw State University’s Research Symposium. Because of school and work, I am an avid coffee drinker. Well, not just coffee, I will drink almost any form of caffeine! When I’m not designing or making art, you’ll likely find me reading. Some of my favorite books include The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Picture of Dorian Gray, and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Currently, I am reading the Wicked series and loving it! I am also a cat lover, and I am a cat mom to my crazy girl, Mona Mudpie, and my sweet girl, Princess Luna.
